Virtual Agent Build-A-Thons are hosted every month on Microsoft Teams. This is a fully virtual & global event.

For the in person events, individuals and teams from any from any small, medium or large size organizations may participate

For the virtual events, teams from any small, medium or large size organizations may participate. Multiple teams from within an organization can also participate by submitting different use-cases. One key requirement to participate in this Agent Build-A-Thon is that you have access to Microsoft Copilot Studio in your work tenant and have any required licenses or message packs to be able to experiment in your Dev tenant.

There are several benefits to participating in this hackathon:

  • Opportunity to learn as a team
  • Opportunity to build & experiment with AI Agents
  • Opportunity to get direct guidance from Copilot Studio experts
  • Potential Opportunity to be Featured in a Customer Story for your team & your project
  • Earn a Credly badge for successful completion of your agentic prototype during the Agent Build-A-Thon.

All team members should be employed by the same organization. A project team can range from 2 to 5 members.

Your project must include building an Agent using Copilot Studio. It may be a conversational or an autonomous agent. It should, preferably, use Gen-AI orchestration. It should address a real business need and demonstrate one or more compliance aspects of the agent for enterprise readiness.

While we provide temporary tenant access to work on your hands-on labs; we highly recommend that you build your real project in your work tenant and approved environment and ensure you have the necessary licenses and credits. If you do not have required permissions to build your agent in your work tenant, we suggest that you sign up for your own trial tenant to experiment with your team.

All in person events will have a dedicated 60 minutes during the end of the day where you will have an opportunity to share your prototypes.

In the virtual Agent Build-A-Thon, during week 4, we will host a Showcase & Feedback session, where your team will have the opportunity to showcase the agent you have built, its use case, and impact in front of the experts & other participants for real-time feedback. For the in-person event, participants can share their prototypes using direct screenshare.
