Who are the MGCI Advisors?
The Microsoft Global Community Initiative (MGCI) Advisors consist of volunteer community leaders globally and Microsoft full-time employees.
At the initiative’s launch, eight external community leaders were selected from over 130 candidates to serve 18-month terms as Board Officers and six regional leaders were chosen to promote the initiative, support Community Days events, and ensure global access to community resources. In May 2024, an additional 60+ regional leaders were appointed to better represent the diverse, global Microsoft Community.
The internal Steering Committee includes four Microsoft employees who specialize in community management and possess extensive leadership experience. Each member is required to appoint a succession delegate to maintain long-term continuity.
The MGCI is community-led, supported by Microsoft. We want to extend a big thank you to the volunteer community board members and regional leaders that give their time to lead subcommittees, create content, craft playbooks, and lead this initiative for the community.
